Time Management

Before the first semester I took 6 classes and the first weeks of college was intense I couldn’t figure how I am going to manage my time and how I am going to have time for myself.  During the time management presentation in class I have found out that I need a plan to keep track of my homework and keep and consistent schedule. Since I am taking 6 classes this semester I couldn’t really spend that much time with my friends but I’ve learned that it is possible. For example since I only have 2 classes on Mon, weds, and only one class on Friday I can do all my homework in that time.  I also included my friends as a study group since they are taking the same classes as me but only with different professor. Furthermore by studying together we could ask each other questions and spend time together too. I’m my opinion by doing this I can have a social life and get my work done at the same time. Sometimes my friends could be distracting but usually my other friend would keep us on track if we ever fooled around and should really being doing homework or studying. For exams and quiz I have to study for I found out that it is better to study by chapters that I have trouble on the most and review the ones I am strong at. For example for my French class since I do average on structure I study the vocab. To prepare me for the exams it helps me the most by using flashcards. In my opinion flashcards are more helpful then looking through the textbook and trying to re-read everything. Next semester I am only taking 3 classes which will give me more room to study more time to have a social life and letting me have time to do more activity on campuss.

Cultural Events

       Cultural Events

This Tuesday I decided to go to the Polynesian festival which was amazing. In my opinion they really caught many traditions of dancing and songs. It was amazing how the performers played their ukulele and singing island music. Also at the festival me and my friends received leis and a ticket for the snow cone. This experience made me feel like an experience I had in high school with APSU (Asian pacific Student Union). I have also gone to the international café to meet with international students from japan and china studying in America. I meet some really awesome people and saw some o-team leaders their too. At the international café they were serving food such as chips and chicken salad with lemonade. From the internal café I learned many Japanese cultures like food and study habits different from America. Following these cultural events was interesting and fun. It helped me meet new people and learn about cultures that are different from mine.
